Griffith exhaust mod

Hi all,

My Griff exhaust is stock at present and i'd like to make it sound like it should..

Is there a 'budget' way of doing so or am I looking at forking out for an ACT Cherry Bomb system? If so, does anyone have a good second hand one they would like to flog?

If you intend keeping the cats in, sleeve the main box. Just cut the top off, replace the perforated pipes with normal pipe, put the wadding back in and weld back up. It doesn't make it too loud. Alternatively, dig out the pre-cats and/or cats. If you want it VERY loud, do both.

Sleeves do sound good but a little agricultural to some. Cut open the box and weld in a pair of cherry bombs, and then cose it again. Basically achieves what the straight through does but damps out some of the high frequency sounds, just gives a louder bass note.

Agree with the above, But if you dont take out the pre catts your wasting time & money,
Take out the precatts first then see if you want louder, If you go full monty in one go its very dear to return to original, I also have a straight though system for sale ...

I have a set of Griff 500 Manifolds with Cats removed. It would save you a lot of work and you can put your own ones back on at any time

Potentially car may fail MOT with out cats. Generally I put £20 note under wiper to absorb CO! (joke)

Hi Biper

I'm in Hereford. Manifolds, say £50 + postage. I am at Loton Park Sunday if that is easier. I also have loads of other stuff including full exhaust system
