I'm still running in the R500 (short shifting), but at last it's stopped raining up here!

(for some reason converting to wmv chopped the last 2 secs off. Strange.)

How are you finding the GoPro HD? I've just purchased one for the Help for Heroes Road Trip to capture all of the trip. Is it true that you have to modify the clear box to charge it on the move?

I havent seen it yet as I'm currently out in Afghanistan, but was informed this was the best on the market.

Is it easy enough to use/mount on your car? Want to get some good footage of the Nurburgring and Stelvio Pass!!

Thanks for any advice you can give!!

Can't advise re charging I'm afraid.

The manual is pretty crap - but once you've sorted it out it's very easy to use. One tip - when you turn it on, don't hold your finger on the button too long or it won't open in the mode you want, and you'll have to go round the houses to get back to it.

Audio quality fair, picture quality stunning. V easy to mount to almost anything.

Nice video, that road really reminds me of the Elan Valley pass in Mid Wales. smile

Nice vid.

For a good slow motion one go to the GoPro website and there is a video on the main page of a surfer. Absolutely sunning footage.

Indeed it is (closed for 6 weeks at the end of August for resurfacing - if they do a good job it'll be great for my spine!)

Steve have you ever thought about renting your life out to people less fortunate?

Out of interest, it's the highest road in the UK, and therefore where I ended up is the highest car park!

hehe My Dad worked 40 years as a train driver on the London Underground, and wanted me to follow in his footsteps. This fact alone is probably why I ended up in the Highlands as far from underground as possible!

Thought it looked familiar! I drove it last summer - I was only in a Hertz 1.6 Ford Focus, but it was still fun! driving

GC, that looks stunning. I recently bought a GoPro myself & am currently fiddling with mounting points in/out the car.

Any pictures of how yours is mounted? & I assume you used the transparent casing for the GoPro to sit within?

PS - That road/scenery is stunning...Can't wait for my Alpine road trip in a few weeks now!

Yep... transparent casing and 'sucker pad' (which holds perfectly, as long as you have smooth surface)

I havent plucked up the courage to use it on the outside yet if I'm honest hehe May try it shortly.
