As above I do not have Natural Gas in my house but what ideas can you give me for central heating and hot water, I was thinking along the lines of Gas cylinders in the garden feeding a boiler but dont have a clue where to start.

Any idea's welcome.

Calor Gas - High cost to buy but you can run a gas hob from it as well as your boiler.

Oil - Cheaper than Calor to buy, but you can't run a gas hob from it, you'd have to run the hob from bottles.

Electricity - Electric boiler, not really any servicing costs, get some solar to help the running costs.

Must common choice. You can get brilliant electric hobs these days.

Two more options - coal boiler or a heat pump.

The best option would depend on size of house and to some extent layout and whereabouts in the UK.
