My XJS has a spanking new pair of P6000s on the front, however one has a bit of a gash in the sidewall which i think writes off the tyre frown

On the back there is one nearly dead P6000 and brand new Goodyear Eagle NCT5.

I'm pondering what to do, i guess logically it is to replace the dud P6000 up front with another so i have a matching axle and replace the did P6000 on the back with a new Eagle?

Just been having a look at prices and can't see a new Eagle for sub £100 odd quid and P6000's appear to be around £80-100.

The sizes are 225/55/16 W.

I did see somebody selling a good partworn Eagle for £50, maybe find a p/w P6000 too? Also are P6000 as rubbish as people make out? i've only had he car for a week and can't really comment yet.

Are you sure the front one isnt just rim protector? Its best to have at least each axle to have the same tyres if not the whole car.

I see you have finally bought an XJS could you put some pics up on readers cars id quite like to see it. thumbup

P6000 is an old piece of ditchfinding rubbish, I'd put 3 Eagles on to make a set of four.

P6000s are one of the worst tyres I have ever used. Ever. Only bettered in the "ste tyre competition" by P5000s.

Although people who run them on heavier cars seem generally happier with them, I've noticed.

I have noticed that as well, but only people at work who I'm sure have never even cornered with enough force to spill a cup of tea from the cupholder.

Buy an NCT5 and a P6000, fit the Goodyears on the front, Pirellis on the rear and drive everywhere sideways.

Job done.
