ST220/ST TDCI bumper drop
Discussion
Hi all,
Is anyone here able to share their experiences with regards to getting this fixed? I think mine's "dropped" slightly and I can see stress marks appearing on the top nearside mounting screw at the top of the bumper. It sits mostly even but seems to sag about 5-6mm below the bottom of the light clusters.
Has anyone had Ford repair this? Has it been at a cost, or have you managed to claim this under warranty/recall? I know there was a service bulletin about it a while ago.
Cheers

Foam was initially used to support the bumpers, but were removed on later cars. As a result many rear bumpers droop.
In the early days some people got them sorted under warranty, but unless you recently bought the car from a dealer I doubt you'll get it done.
Foam pads aren't cheap either....
I'll wait for DaveST220 to post before commenting further

I bought it from a Ford main dealer just over a month ago, so still have some "warranty" left over from that. It's an '04 plate ST220.
I'm gonna give them a bell tomorrow and see what they can do, but I thought I'd ask about other people's experiences

Not entirely sure if mine is the same but on the left side on the back bumper (just to left on the last pic), the clip thing has snapped somehow (I suspect it was there when I bought from Ford
). You would only notice it comes out a little if your looking for it & after each ride I just give it a bang to knock back into place.
I've not looked into pricing it up because I just know your talking stupid money to fix such a silly thing (for now) but I have been curious on a fix though. Maybe I should hold it in place & put some that foam all over it then ha ha.
Its a 56 (07) plate.
