would my wife be able to drive the Ultima? Sat in the demo one today at the open day, even i found the clutch very hard to push, the guy did say it was stiffer than normal,so would your other half be able to drive your ultima?

Fit a servo clutch. Robm3 has one.

Fitting a Multi plate clutch would make the pedal pressure less... but recommend a Carbon Carbon Clutch if you do that as there more like a normal clutch pedal feel ie you can slip them without warping and damaging the plates.

Remote servos on e-bay, fit inside one of the luggage bins.. Around 2 times servo assistance seems to be favoured on clutches.

She did say getting in was a bit like
potholing ( when did she do that?)
I think the clutch will give her a big right thigh, that will look good when she has a dress on.

My g/f laughed out loud when she saw this thread. She has 'sparrow' legs and finds the clutch no problem.

Legs still perfectly symetrical......;)

Well that's good news as the wife is a bit of a petrol head ( case of having to ) it would be a shame for her not to be able to push the clutch! What gearbox do you have? Is the clutch on the getrag lighter than the g50?

G50. Did have. Never tried the Getrag.

Good tip might be to set the biting point at 90 degrees to the leg throw to minimise the effort to push through this point.

Clutch operation on the go is a doddle. It's the stop, start, biting point hold that I think we might have all had a leg trembler on!!

You can use the MGB remote servo. I would suggest using a an MGB Servo with a 1.65:1 boost ratio rather than the universal kit which is a 1.90:1 ratio.

Many thanks for the replies, I tried the clutch in the silver demo car at the factory the other day and it was a lot lighter than there red one! So I don't think she will have a problem.

As Dave says.... I'm a big girl and it works well for me.

You'll have more things to worry about than the clutch pedal, like the way objects ahead of you seem to rush towards you faster than expected
