Why is my buddlia covered by wasps and hoover flies. The blooms are clear but the leaves are covered with wasps and hoover flies. Any ideas from the collective??.

Hoover fly: Electrolux sp. I breed them to keep the carpet clean.

Now if your buddleia was infested I could help you, but an invested buddlia, no idea, sorry.

But seriously, they attract insects, notably butterflies. What you're seeing is nature in action smile

Yeah nothing to worry about, use a flame thrower to disperse them if you need to.

They are feeding on the nectar......wasps develop a need for sugar in late summer hence them bugging us when we have picnics or barbies
