Not heard a word from The Man with No Back Window.

Anyone know if he's getting it sorted?

Greg,

Tony stayed overnight in Birmingham in a hotel, and headed back with the car down to Castle TVR yesterday. So being fixed as I type...

I can confirm what Alf has stated... spoke to T on Monday morning. The tale of the disappearing rear window had me in stitches...

Thanks Alan.

Wish I'd have known that - he could have stopped at our place. More than enough room for a Cerb in the garage.

I'm sure we'll hear from him soon.

Where do I start boys??? Firstly, thanks to Craig, Greg and everyone else who made this happen and took care of us on the day, respect!
It was a fantastic day out and just what any speed freak needed, amazing quality of vehicles. Those sounds, bliss….

My Cerb had overheating problems when we got there and on the first few wet runs, she decided to lift her bonnet up at over a ton, with her stepping out at 120 down the main straight and the bonnet blocking my view, it was bloody scary chaps, trust me. Bonnet all fixed, it was good to finally get some good runs, wheel spinning all the way down the start straight was good fun, I was losing traction all the way to about 90!!

So it’s all dry, just managed a few runs at 170 odd, tyres all warm, not much tread left, she was purring. I take Greg’s friend out for a lap, gunning it down the main straight, approaching 160 odd, traps coming into view, then a strange noise like something departing the car, “did you hear that?” I said to her, “yes” the reply, thought nothing of it, slowing down now taking the first right hander, “It’s a bit breezy ain’t it”, “yeah it is” she says, I look in my rear view mirror and thought bloody hell, that screen’s a bit too clean……”F*CK, I’ve got no rear window”, lunatic driving back to the guys, “Stop the runs boys, I’ve got no back window!!!”…..

I didn’t give a sh!t about the window, I just panicked at the thought of someone coming down at RUF speeds and making contact with a Cerbera back window or shattered glass.

What did you tell me Craig?? Apparently the trap guys said it was the most spectacular thing they’d seen, a Blackpool rocket heading towards them and a whole back window disappear about a hundred foot in the air and explode like a Deathstar!!!........oooops boys, sorry.

So straight to a hotel I know well and rang ahead for them to sort me some secure parking and some bin bags, stayed overnight, met a young lady friend I know well and back to Castles in the morning. You should see the state of the Cerb, the boys at Castles all came out and laughed, no front number plate, no rear screen, filthy dirty, brake dust all over the place and nearly bald tyres, she looked gorgeous, I’ll post some pictures up soon. She ran the best ever though and that’s the way these cars need to be treated.

What did I say about giving me no. 13 Craig??

I just need to see some more footage for my VMAX fix, anymore out there?, any of my Cerb start line action?

P.S. Who dreamt about cars Sunday night?

Thanks for giving Julie a run in the car Tone.....she promises she isn't a Jonah, and it was one of the most enjoyable passenger rides she had all day, and possibly the most dramatic!

Glad you're still smiling, see you and that wonderful car at VMAX 5.

All the best,

Greg

Must admit I thought they'd got for removeable panels like the T350T... but hey, TVR always come up trumps..

Don't try to kid us Tony - you're just jealous of us Tuscan owners who can take our rear screens out whenever we want!

Bet you're glad that your car doesn't do this though!

Did I really need to point at it??? it's quite funking obvious really!!!

I've never seen Mrs Slinksport get out of a car quite so quickly tho.. she's not a fan of smoke/fire!

Alan, you must know me too well chap. Well there had to be a woman involved somewhere on a day like this, next time I'll pimp it out and bring a whole load of 'em and you know the ones I mean

Anyway, Michael will wet himself when he hears about it. I remember the last time I saw him he was gobsmacked that I broke a Cerbera drive shaft! He said even he couldn't do that, maybe I should be the TVR test driver I'm glad I've been driving a Cerbera how it was meant to be driven! She was flying after a few really hard laps and really enjoying it, so precise and on point. Oh and Trackdemon, thanks for giving me pointers after taking you for a quadruple 360 onto the grass, who was the chap in the 911 laughing as he went past??

Glad your friend enjoyed the ride Greg, it was good to meet you chap.

Ed, when I saw that pic I thought you eventually went the whole hog with the batman thing, was that device intended to shake me off, you got scared chap didn't ya?? Hope the car get's sorted quickly.

Oh and Slinksport, mail me those pics if you can, sorry for taking it easy at 169. I don't think there could have been a problem getting over 180 as I'm sure I was hitting in the mid 170's later on in the day, next time though.
