This is a scary thread on Corvette Forum.

I think it was Vetteheadracer that found a similar thread in the past - that was the same style of wheel.
1990 ZR1's had a reputation for cracking the rear wheels. I had to replace the near side rear wheel on mine a couple of years ago. I first noticed a couple of small cracks on the inside of the wheel when I removed the wheels for cleaning. I marked the cracks with a marker pen and re-checked them a few miles later and the length of the cracks had increased at an alarming rate.

Scary, my first thought was that someone had tried to steal the wheels and one came loose but as the wheel is actually broken...?
Are they alloy or magnesium/ What Gixer said about the ZR1 wheels must mean it can happen to alloy wheels.
Wheels on my car are magnesium and not brilliantly made if you look close - loads of grinding and filing marks - that's what you got from a low volume British wheel manufacturer maybe in those days?
Dymags have a good name now though.
Are the Z06 wheels actually manufactured by Chevrolet or more likely a supplier.
They could be in for some serious lawsuits resulting from injuries / deaths / damage (look what it's done to the car!)if that's not corrected.
