Can anyone identify this car - classic GT 911-ish rear

No pic I'm afraid and this is likely to be a tricky one.

Seen (briefly) driving through Oxfordshire on Sunday morning was what at, first glance, I thought was a classic 911. It had roughly the same rear profile (I only saw it from the back), but it was a bit more pointy and had a slightly larger window area, a bit like the cross between a 911 and an E-Type coupe.

Might just be thinking of a 911/912 (or an E-Type):




But I could swear it looked a bit different. Any ideas?

Nope. Rounded flanks and sweeping fast back are very similar to the two above (in the original post, but Toyota 2000GT is a good shout).

Okay, it's possible I just saw an old 911 or E-type from an odd angle, but something looked different.

There's an English kit car from the 60's that looks a lot like a 911 from the rear.

Was quite popular, raced a lot too.

Just can't remember the name. Have seen a couple that have been modded into Porsche replicas, so they are very close.
