I was driving along this morning on the motorway & the engine just died

Total loss of power!!!

I tried restarting but had no joy

the breakdown recovery driver thought it might be the cambelt

I've checked the cambelt & it's OK only replaced @ 60K miles

It's a Ford 1.8 TDDi engine, 03 plate with 85K on the clock

Anyone with any ideas of what could be the fault?

Anyone had to replace the injector pump on a 1.8 TDDi?

Are there any common failures/problems that people know of with the 1.8 TDDi engine?

Thanks :-)

Is there diesel in it? Either stuck fuel gauge, or blocked fuel filter?

Yes, nearly a full tank of diesel

I'll check the fuel filter & replace it

engine died instantly without any warning at 70mph!

turns over but no sign of life

Not had the DTC's read yet

I have it booked in next week at the garage for fault diagnosis!

Hopefully it will be something simple & not the Injection pump
