I was driving through a 30 zone this morning, minding my own business. Suddenly, an Audi driver catches up with me .. and starts tailgating. A few seconds later, a SQUIRREL walks into the road in front of me. I couldn't slow down, because of the fking Audi driver ..... THUD cry. I would have avoided the little pecker under normal circumstances, but the Audi driver made me do it ..... I wish I had a can of Red Bull at hand ....

And remember: Tailgating KILLS SQUIRRELS

If only. Nationally there's a lot of tailgating. Bloody Grey Squirrel population keeps on growing and pushing out the reds.

Yeah it does, but just think of the image and the luxury that the Audi driver was enjoying whilst being held up by your Italian heap. I'd want to push you out the way too.hehe

Squirrels.

RATS with good PR.

Except for red ones, of course.

i watched some stupid ass squirrel try to outrun a car. it ran along side the passing car before jumping on the rear wheel, where it proceeded to make two or three revolutions attached to the tread of the tyre before being spat out the back of the car.

took a good 5 minutes for the body to stop twitching.

If I didn't have the dogs in the car then I'd have still braked to dodge the squirrel....

Kinda felt sorry for it.

Bit like the rabbit I ran over in the Mustang, neither could avoid each other, and the rabbit went under my rear wheel, which nicely propelled it into the windscreen of the PHer that was following. I believe they had therapy for that, the PHer, not the rabbit. (Windscreen wipers to remove dead bunny was traumatizing).

I am a bad, bad man. I actually snorted out loud.

Roadkill. It's a fact of life. But at least with the Grey Squirrel you are doing the native red squirrel population a favour. And with the bunny there's the possibility of eating it (given it's not overly discommangulated).

Silver lining and all that.

This raises an interesting question .. if it was a larger animal (e.g. deer) would you have hit the brakes? If you hit the deer it it will come off your insurance, whereas if the numpty Audi-driver shunts your rear - well they are at fault one assumes(?)

Snap.

I think it was the choice of words, if anything!

I accidentally took out a rabbit not so long ago... was informed by many people that the myxomatosis that is rife here was actually doing the world a favour. Plus the stupid thing just kept on bloody running... I slowed and moved over... but no. Jumped in the gene pool when the lifeguard wasn't looking. Crunch.

Yeah, but then there's all the hassle of getting insurance sorted, getting the car repaired, etc, etc...

Although if it was a deer, I'd definitely slam on the brakes. I'm not killing Bambi.

I would have braked and got a new car out of the Audi driver with CD10 stamped on his licence for good measure.

Don't run into a deer: it will fk your car. If you like venison, and I do, shoot it. Or if you haven't the skills/licences/permissions then buy it from a shop.

As to eating Thumper? Hell yes. Rabbit is good, lean meat. Very good for you. Slow cook it until it's tender. You just need to clean it up before the contents of the guts seep into the meat and spoil it.

Hare is even better - really rich dark, gamey meat. Lovely with some redcurrant sauce.

Was it a grey or Red squirrel? Greys are expendable imo

More importantly is the car ok?
