HI all,
I am looking at changing company car.

Currently i have got a Vauxhall Vectra 1.9CDTI Exclusiv 120ps. The company have said they will spend up to £20k for a car, up to 1 year old and 10,000 miles, they dont buy new.
I will also have all my fuel paid for. The 318D M Sport looks like good option. The tax on it is amazingly cheap, i have not driven one though. I am guessing it is going to be quicker, more economical and better to drive than my Vectra but if anyone can offer some opinions of the 318D M Sport i would appreciate it.

Other options i am looking at include Passat CC TDI GT, Audi A4 SE TDIe.

M Sport pack is the one to go for without a doubt - well for me they look so much better than an SE/ES.

As for the 318d its 144bhp so 30odd bhp down on the 320d. The one to get is the 320d is possible.

OR how about looking at something in the SE spec maybe you could bag a 325d SE? for the same money or a 320d SE over a 318d M SPort. Depends whats more important to you/what kit you min require

There is no 320D's available on Autotrader for £20k or less with under 10k on the clock and up to 1 years old.

I assume the 318D will be better than my Vectra?

Dynamically yes.
One thing to remember is even if your getting it used you will be paying co car tax on its list price so work out what that is for this car and the vectra/any other model you desire so from a financial perspective you can rank them.

Without going into it Id assume without doubt the 318d will be cheaper on co tax too.

Remember co tax is x% of the list price + options so the BMW should be less % however clearly if the list price for the Vectra is below a certain amount then it would be cheaper co tax too.

Although I have to say go for it.
Or Look at a Golf 1.6 TDI Blue Motion brand new gives 74MPG list pice is c£17k so lots of room for nice extras plus hype cheap co car tax.

Enjoy finding the right one.

Thanks Welshbeef, some simple sums suggest that the BMW 318d will be around - £100 per month in tax, including the fuel benefit tax, the Vectra is about £120, both on the list price.
