Just a quick post to introduce myself. I picked-up my first Cerb on Saturday; a silver 1997 4.2 that has a Readman/Grantura Racing 4.5 engine fitted.
I'm totally in love with the car, even though it terrifies me when I put my foot down. A few TVR style niggles have turned up in the last couple of days (leaking windscreen and the wipers decided not to work today in the pouring rain), but its just so much fun. Engine is a bit grumpy under 3k rpm, but after that it just takes off.

Yes they can be a bit grumpy at low revs
Then again it just makes you drive it harder to get past the lumpy bit!

Interesting you say 'tvr niggles ' , as i've been reading ' the porsche 911 buyers guide ' and there's rather a lot of ' niggles ' including leaking windscreens , on cars costing seriously more than tivs .I'm totally in love with the car, even though it terrifies me when I put my foot down. I've done almost 1k miles in the car since I picked it up on Saturday, so really enjoying it so far. I even managed to fit two babyseats in the back ready for family outings.
It's due its 12k service soon, so does anyone have any recommendations for a good place to take it? I used to use Waldonway TVR for my old Chim and thought they were excellent if a little pricey.
PS: I didn't mean 'TVR niggles' as a criticism of the car by any means. It's 13 year old supercar that costs £10k, so I can certainly live with the odd drip of water and occasionally temperamental electrics.

Hello mate. I'm close by. I'm normally around Surrey Quays. M3 John (also on here) is just over the water at Canary Wharf. As for serviceing i us Dan Taylor at "Taylor TVR". Its only a couple of miles from Waldonway at Aylesford. Top bloke I've done almost 1k miles in the car since I picked it up on Saturday, so really enjoying it so far.
