Ran over a Tortoise

Was on a major road in Turkey recently and despite how much space you leave, they all drive up your arse.

So I was pressing on in the outer lane, car in front swerves -I had spotted this tortoise but too late to brake with a car 3 feet behind me at 75mph and one to the side of me so had no option but to centre up and hopefully pass over the top of him and miss him but he had raised himself up to walk faster just a second or two before I got ot him and I heard a bang as we passed over him.

Hope he was OK, he was at least a foot long and probably quite old.

He had already crossed 2 lanes of motorway!
