Anyone know how much fluid it takes to fill the coolant system from complete empty ?? I want to use some of this Evans NPG coolant stuff and I could do with knowing how many litres I should bargain for.

Cheers

Bump!

Does anyone know the empty to full coolant capacity of a Chimaera?

Did you go with the Evans waterless coolant in the end Nigel?

If so how did it work out for you & how much did you need?

Ok, just found this:

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=119...

So it looks like the answer is 12 litres!

Seems like a lot of coolant to me?

Hi, yes it's 12 litres. I've just filled mine from empty using just under 12 litres, second time I've done it in a wk and both times just under 12 litres. I used 5 litres of anti freeze mixed into the water before filling.

Just seen that 12 litres of Evens prep fluid & 12 litres of Evans Power Cool waterless coolant would cost 240 yikes

That's one costly coolant change!

Well mine with ten quids worth of anti freeze ran for two hours earlier and I really went through the rev range and gears, proper gassing it etc, ecumate plugged in and temp stayed at 80 the whole time.

I might buy that stuff if I lived in Africa.

Hoofa, it does seem like good stuff, so what would the temps run at with Evans in it!
The same surely!??! I should read up about the stuff!
Over 80mph my temp starts to drop, is it more useful in traffic situations.
