Just after some advice really, keen on doing a Marine Biology course with a view to it being a "maybe one day" career option.

As Im working full time it'd need to be a distance learning course, and I have found a few places that do them but was hoping someone had done something similar and could recommend somewhere.

The other thing is of course how valuable the courses are, anyone involved in Marine Biology that could give some pointers on what a worthwhile learning path would be?

Long shot I know, but you never know...

A friend of my sister-in-law studied MB. It's a course where the graduates out number the jobs hugely to warn you.

It's also a pretty itinerant lifestyle as well - although the places he gets to be itinerant in are generally pretty lovely hehe

I know quite a few people with Marine Biology degrees. I know no-one who has a job really using their degree (unless you wish to count working part time in a fish shop).

As above, the number of people with degrees far, far exceeds the number of jobs to use it. BUT I'd say if you are interested in it then there is no reason not to study it.

I used to work with a couple of them. Mainly ended up taking water quality samples.
