Tyre Sizes

Hello,

I need a new set of tyres and need a little help!

They are for my E46 M3 and the standard sizes are:

Front - 225/45/18
Rear - 255/40/18

I have read good things about the Kumho KU31's and would like to try a set. However, the rears don't seem to come in the 40 profile... only 35.

So, the question is will this profile be ok?

Edit - I notice on the M3 cutters site someone is recommending 245/45/18 and 265/40/18 - slightly wider it seems - a good thing?!

Providing the rims aren't already at the tyre width limit, and you have sufficient body / suspension clearance your only problem will be your speedo reading being slightly off. As it probably reads a little over anyway, it might make it more accurate, but worth checking with GPS if you make the change.

You can also get both the front and rear sizes of the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta in your size, which I've read are quite liked on the BMW.

If money is no object, I'd get a set of Conti Sport Contact 3's.
