I have been having problems with the door locks on my 93 chim. the light never lit up on the Knob when doors where locked, so I knew something was up. secondly when the doors would lock from the inside the only one that would lock was the passenger door.

the drivers door would not operate.

On retrimming the car I decided to look into things a little more. Once the latch mechanism was off I found that there where three wires leading to the button in the door release button. These had all come off, aso one of these wires was green with a resistor in. I forgot the value of the reistor but it was broken, I got a replacement of the same value to replace it.

I tested the switch it worked but the LED was open circuit.

I got a new button with LED in it, I found that one of the pins is marked with a red X on it. now I need to find the correct way to wire things up.

Thirdly when I had things appart I found that if the white wire with black line shorted ot the Black wiire the passenger door would lock. so I then went away to get the button, It was easy to figure which wires where for the locks as when I shorted the Black and white/black I guessed that they where for those connections.

I assume that the green one was a feed for the LED in button.

Now when I try it does nothing touching the two black and white black wires so I have not re fitted button yet Anyone have any ideas?

The locks work properly when I use the door mechanical locks but I am sure that the drivers solenoid is US when I arm alarm just the Centre solenoid and passenger solenoids work.

I thought also that there must be a relay for the doors so I contacted the TVR Centre and they supplied me with a large grey relay, I cannot find one like it anywhere in the car, can anyone help with locating it? or have they just sold me something that is not needed
The only relays that have anything to do with the doors are relays four and five inside the alarm system box, they operate when I arm the alarm and disarm it so no problems there.

what is the best way to test the solenoids for the door locks?

has anyone had this problem?

Problem sorted, the red and blue wire (live from black box had gone open CCT on one side of car only, once loom cut and replaced all OK thanks to help from Rivergirl. she brought over Ruby for me to compair the two together. Without this the fault would not have been found.

Thanks.
