I've been trying to find out some definitive dates for the closure of this road (as I know several are coming up). Highways Dept. have said today that they will not be closing the road BEFORE Sept 4th (bike race), but that they don't know when it will close after that date as they await tenders rolleyes

Just thought I'd let you know.

Will update as I know more.

Hope you enjoy it as much as we did last weekend. In the words of Arnie, "I'll be back !".

This in an e mail from Highways dept (!)

"...as yet no date is set for the Bealach closure. They are still costing the job at the moment. It looks like it may not happen this year at all, as they certainly won't want to tackle it in the depths of winter and they don't look like they will be ready for autumn".

Thanks Steve, great video BUT...............

even my wife was shouting at the laptop "where's all the other cars coming towards him. Did he shut the road off!"
On the day before we had to contend with shed loads of motorhomes and assorted euroboxes.

Just think though, the crazy guy who owns Ascari spent a fortune building a racetrack for himself. You get your playground for £200 or so a year in road tax laugh
