where can i find proper xenon bulbs?

if by "Xenon" you mean the optional Xenon/HID headlamps as opposed to aftermarket Xenon replacement bulbs for regular Halogen type headlights, they're probably a projector unit in which case I suspect you'd need to get one from BMW, and it wont be cheap.
It might not even be the bulb thats gone, as HIDs use a ballast and other electronics to make them work which can also fail.

Yes this its the optional extra unit. But all that happened was it started flickering and now its stopped coming on. Ballasts are pretty expensive no doubt - i just want it bloody fixed. Do NOT go to the stealer to buy a bulb! They will charge you about £120!Try swapping over the bulbs first to make sure it's not a ballast pack.
If it is a ballast pack that link I posted they should be able to sort you one.

Find out if It's the bulb first. If it is get one from the link I posted.The bulb you need will be a D2S. Philips or Osram will do. Don't buy anything else.
The bulbs are very easy to change just make sure the lights are off when you are changing anything.
If it is a ballast pack you need contact the people on that link I posted.
They will be able to get you one much cheaper than a stealer.

I have used HID's 4 U twice. The quoted price includes next day delivery and the bulbs are OE Philips / Osram items.
I'm probably a bit too late to this thread, but I can highly recommend Ace Parts (they post on PH). I've had top service several times from them, and delivered me a Xenon bulb for my 996 for about 76 quid (instead of 250+ that Porsche would have charged). I'd also add that xenon bulbs aren't really supposed to blow, but very very occasionally do!

Sounds like the ballast unit.Get one of the cheap bulbs I mentioned (ignore the guff about Osram etc) and, if it still flickers, it's going to be the ballast.
Make sure it's the right bulb, there's a D2S and a D2R.

Better to swap over the bulb from the other headlight first to see if it's a ballast problem.£32 for an OEM bulb is a bargain if he needs one. I wouldn't touch any of that Chinese cr@p at all!
It's a well known fact that the quality of those bulbs are rubbish.. They run a lot hotter than OEM bulbs due to the rubbish salts they use in the capsules.

Been running two for a reasonable time with no trouble at all.
