Car valution required for insurance-where or how do I do it?

Hi All,

My 996 requires an independant valuation or club valuation.

I have spoken to the insurance company, and they claim I can use someone from the owners club to value the car- but that sounds wrong to me.

Surely I need a certified person to value my car? I don't fancy going to a garage as they either charge me for a valuation, which will basically look into the "blue book", or will not know a thing about the car.

Club administrators are usually deemed to be both knowledgable enough and independent enough to provide a valuation.

Alternatively, if you've a good relationship with a specialist independent, you could ask them to. Neither should just 'look it up in the book' - both should do you a decent genuine valuation.
