Has Car Insurance gone up???

right, its renewal time for me.. (Daylight robbery if you ask me!)
Currently with Bell @ £1500/year
renewal this time with bell is £1950
Just done the moneysupermarket run:
Cheapest: £1990
most expensive: £8245
This is an increase from last year (despite a years no claims now earned!), and seems a little crazy for a £1600 car!
Anyone found that their insurance is more expensive this year??

Too many claims going on unfortunately, and insurers need to top-up the claims pot, so rates increase.

I'm asking if anyone has noticed an increase in insurance since last year!!

Any no claims bonus? 1 year (I'm still trying to get the second year from direct line and have been trying for a year now!), but this only drops it £200!
Any calims/convictions in last 5 years?
SP50 in december 2005
SP30 in July 2007

non fault accident in 2008
non fault accident in 2009

Fully Comp inc Class 1 Business Use for 15,000 per year
Definitely seems to have gone up generally. I am insuring for £495 with Admiral after much hunting. Next was Elephant (current insurer) for £507. Next best was over £1100!!
And I'm 34, it's only a 2003 BMW530D and it's garaged in a little village in Hertfordshire. Not exactly the riskiest proposition in the world!

I had an :fault acident when I was 20 or so, I'd say it took a good five years before my premuiums became 'normal'.

It's gone down for me this year fortunately.
Last year, £850 for the Type-R, this year £520, plus a few other costs.
I pre-empted the strike and phoned them to sort the renewal before they sent the paperwork through. The renewal proposal dropped on my mat the same day as the stuff I'd phoned about.
Their proposed renewal was £1,926.
That reminds me, need to send that paperwork off...

If I was an insurer, thinking about it that way, I wouldn't go anywhere near you for less than £7,000.
