I've noticed a slight whistle that I'm pretty sure is coming from the alternator. I presume it is a dry bearing or something along those lines. The alternator is charging absolutely fine. Is there a way of safely oiling the internal components without removing and dismantling it?

Cheers, Chris

Pre serp alternator piece of pi55 to take apart.
Front bearing easy to replace - back one easy to get at if you just want to put a bit of grease in it.

thumbup Thank you - doesn't look too bad. Probably wait until winter time unless it gets worse.

My PAS is fairly quiet. The whistle definitely increases with revs - when it first started I thought someone had attached a supercharger for me biggrin

It may be worth checking the belt, it could be wearing or moved slightly out of alignment for some reason.

Try a quick fire up without the belt on.
