I'm looking at buying a new Discovery 4 with the 3.0d unit. What should I expect in terms of fuel consumption?

Also, tyre costs? And what are the service intervals?

Take a look on www.disco3.co.uk

I buy 19" PS tyres at 175 each, fitted.

On a run ours achieves 28-30 MPG

Round town approx 24 - 25 MPG

We average high 20s on our demo at work, 30 ish should be easily possible on a run.

Average fuel consumption for a discovery 4 is 26.8 MPG according to http://www.car-emissions.com/cars/model/land+rover... - list of all models.

I can do surrey to edinburgh on a tank (just). On the long journeys 32-34 is average, sensible town driving is probably 25-28. I am at 10k miles with plenty left on tyres. Service is now due at one year as opposed to 16k miles £350-£450 for what seems to be just an oil change is a bit steep given my previous BMW M car had done trackdays etc and on variable service indicator made 12000 miles before a £220 oil change!

Great family car, off road ability is a must for the supermarket run in surrey!!!!
