E46 318i Touring 2002 - MP3 playback.

Need a way of playing MP3 cd's.
Im told i can either get a business head unit from 2004 or swap my auto changer for a 2005 or newer one.
Looking around, the best price i can find for the autochanger is £200 used on ebay, and cant find a head unit.
Any suggestions where to look or where to sort my problem? I cant be arsed buying the Alpine model with intravee, it works out just as much.
Ive tried a few breakers yards but most didnt get back to me.
All i use is MP3 cd's and nothing else, so having to stick to just the radio is driving me mad :S

You've effectively answered your own question of sorts - just get the Alpine KCA 420 and Intravee, and if you have one, an ipod with all your MP3's on it and control from the OEM head unit.
If you can't be arsed to do that, it's probably why no one could be arsed to help out with other potential ways in response!!
