Insurance - what a pain in the derriere!!!

Just taken a two car policy with Adrian Flux - 500 Griff and a Nissan Nivara (I know!!!!!) - they have taken full NCD on the Nivara and I have 2 years NCD on the Griff. The Insurance company is Kenetic and it is a Classic car policy and - apparently - it doesnt recognise NCD on a Classic policy.

Is this normal or should I look araounf else where?

I found it cheaper to use all my NCD on the volvo and insured the TVR on a classic policy which they do not take NCD into account, As for Adrian Flux, they wanted in excess of £2k and that was with discounts, got it for £221 in the end limited to 5k per annum with £150 excess

That is correct. Classic insurance usually doesn't get NCB.

Im paying about £650 for the Griff - interested to heat of other companies that do a good Classic policy - guess I should have shopped around more!!!!!

5,000 miles, SDP&C, £250 excess (windscreen £80), on drive, mods declared.
NB No track days, 3 points (SP30), declined legal cover @ £30

Call MSN. Smidge over 400 quid for my Tuscan on 5k miles with 150 xs. They won't use NCB from other insurance, but if you can prove 5 or more years of clean driving on another car they will allow it.

That is a really good price. I may have to give them a call. I normally end up paying around £800 for mine as most cheap policies only allow you to keep the car in a garage overnight.

£221 fully comp through RHClassic insurance, thats with 5k per annum, garaged, free trackday(£1K excess ) SDP&C £150 excess, no mods, agreed valuation also included.

also was with classic line last year they were a little more than above but with only 3k per annum

I am looking for Ins as well, currently have her on my Traders Policy which is total C...

I recently got a quote from RH was insured with them on previous Griff, but due to a claim (£6k , they settled it very efficiently ) on that one and another whack in my Discovery they want £480 odd. Any one else i can try ?

I have been with Footman James for 12 yrs............

Classic policy of £299.71 (1500 miles) and i've just turned 40.

That also includes breakdown cover legal cover and windscreen, plus my wife to drive (as if she'd get a chance!!!!!! )

Mannings... Griff 500(no mods)£405 5K miles PA and (TVRCC) Trackdays inc.

Newbie Griff owner so thought the above was reasonable... hopefully lower premiums next year

Does anyone have a suggestion for insuring modded Griffs?

Hagertys have rejected my car this year, I paid £193 last year, mods declared.

Now , ringing round I find the lowest I can get is £435 from Classicline.......

I had similar quotes to you after hagerty. On the wedge forum someone came up with Peter S Taylor and co based in Hove. Their classic policy was better than Hagerty, understood the mods and were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Price was less then Hagery too. Their phone number is 01273 820303.

Forget the Firm in Hove, just tried them, wont cover anything under 15 yrs old, only do 3,000 mile policys and were not very interested.

Subject to seeing it in print, Peter Taylors have just given me a fantastic quote !!!! All mods taken into account, they weren't much over Hagerty's price last year.
