I've made the mistake of allowing a friend to talk me into changing the clutch in his '51 plate diesel picasso this weekend. Does anyone know of any particular prblems with the job? Is it straightforward or a nightmare? Any advice or tips greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

You could be right.
It's also been suggesred that drinking heavily before starting the job could be advisible.
What's the worst that can happen?

drinking heavily before starting.... suppose you wouldnt remember doing the job afterwards.. a good thing :-)

wear gloves of some sort... not wooly ones. you are bound to find a shap and/or pointy bit somewhere along the way.

make sure he gets it steam cleaned to start with...hopefully the car will disintegrate as it is cleaned, thus saving you the shame of doing the job.
