Clio's BIG adventure
Discussion
In Australia we have a category of tourist attractions, mostly on highways as a reason for people to stop at a town, these are BIG things. There are loads of them around Australia. It seems as a country we are becoming too sophisticated for something so simple but I personally like them as they are a bit of fun.
Anyway, on a recent drive from Brisbane to Canberra and back I photographed my Clio 172 with the big things along the way. enjoy..
Big Banana - Coffs Harbour
Big Apple - Stanthorpe
Big Avocado - Tweed Heads
Big Golden Guitar - Tamworth
Big Prawn - Ballina (This is a shadow of itself from only a couple of years ago, they have closed it down and redeveloping )
Big Merino (sheep) - Goulburn
I also stopped through Bathust and did a couple of laps of the track, which is just public road normally but has all the markings, signage, ripple strips, bridges, gravel traps, everything. Unfortunately, it is 60kph (35mph) speed limit and the police are regularly about, but it was still a good experience
hope someone found this interesting

They are bloody expensive in Aus! You can buy a decent V8 for clio sport money
Lovely looking clio though, and I'm guessing you had to import all the mod's as well?
We go through bursts of having Euro cars in Australia, when the Aussie dollar is higher, like now, they make an effort but when the dollar sinks, they lose interest.Lovely looking clio though, and I'm guessing you had to import all the mod's as well?
The clios have a small cult following here and they are one of the few cars that are good value second hand, but yes all parts need to be imported including tuning. the speedline wheels were $500 a pop (previous owner thankfully) and the remus exhaust was around $1200. I will be getting a few bits from K-tec racing (UK business) in the next year I think as I do like my clio.
