I thought this would be a cracking idea for a topic, posting up Streetview pics of your local 'hell' corner, alas the rather flat view from the camera has left mine looking decidedley non-hellish!

Still, I'm going to post it up anyway

What can't be seen clearly is the appalling state of the road and the fact that it falls away on a negative camber, even if I'm out for a hoon this is one corner I accept can't really be taken at any sort of speed.

This one seems to catch a lot of people out. It sharps up a lot more than you'd expect it to which makes it quite easy to run wide and end up on the other side of the road (or in the hedge if you're not paying much attention).

After a very very long straight you come across this corner, and if your not paying attention or dont notice the bend, your in deep sheiiiit.

This one's pretty nasty - tightens, narrow and off camber. In addition, the junction to the left is blind...

This one almost caught me out once. As you approach it, it looks like the road continues dead straight, but that is in fact just a farm track. The actual bend isn't too tight but the number of tyre marks that used to be on the road (before ABS was so common) suggested that it scared the crap out of plenty of people.

If it's not clear what you're looking at, the house-shaped gap on the right is all that's left after a flying car from the corner on the left landed in it. All in a 30 zone, too.

(The crash barrier was all added after the event...)

This looks similar to the OP's one. Used to know the people who lived in that house - accidents happen weekly - the corner tightens and there's often mud on the road - it's heavily used by farm traffic.

It looks like the camera vehicle got it wrong and ended up in the grass...

This is an interesting one as well.

When you know it's there, it's brilliant little tight chicane, though you need to be careful because there is a big pair of trees ready to collect you if you overcook the left hander (marks up the side of the first tree suggest it's a popular stopping point).

If you don't know it's there, you will crash and die, in a big fire ball. Guaranteed.

Great corner but annoying when following someone who doesn't know it. The first time I approached it, a Lotus Elise overtook me and took the bends at some speed. I knew it would be fun living around here after that

Whole section reduced to 40mph and then 30mph from national a couple of months ago to prevent any more muppets dying.

No problem taking that corner at 60+ with the right contitions..

This usually sees a pile of scrap after a Friday night... If you click through until just after the 'Y' junction, you'll see it falls like a corkscrew through ever tightening downhill corners, in ever tighter cuttings. Carry too much speed in over the blind crest and it's trouble all the way down. It's steeper in reality too. Steyning, Bostal Road. Sussex.
