do old honda insights have c02 figures?

i would like a car that does less than 120 units of c02 to get half price stationparking.

but i hate nearly all the options.

if it managed to last for 5 years then it's basically be free to me because:
parking = 1,000pa (which'll only rise)

1000/2=500

500*5=2500

2,789-2,500=£289....

Only £125 id you buy one of the very earliest ones. From March 2001 onwards, VED is £0.00 so you could save yourself some money by holding out for a later one.

(TBH i thought these were all normally about 4 grand but i don;t really know...). if i could get a kosher one for 2.5 to 3 grand i'd be really happy with that.

silver would be best but i kind of like the period early noughties snot green! this mental electric blue must be quite rare.. and how cool is the interior!

They're tough as old boots too, the only downside is the lack of storage or rear seats.

and i think the original one i posted is perhaps a freak one (bad) at that price. if not i guess i'd consider paying the road tax as long i could get the cheap parking.

No, that one's ridiculous. You can get them <4k no problem. My brothers had one for a few years now, it's an excellent wee thing. You can get 80+ mpg out of it if you're careful, and 60 odd if you're not careful at all. Light, handles ok, and reasonably nippy.

To the OP: That is a great price for that car... I'm tempted to buy it myself! But only Y-reg and newer ones are CO2 rated I believe, which caused anomalies in tax-bands for a number of makes and models. Goes to show what a load of bks the tax bands are really...

Anyway, you may find that VED-free ones will command a price premium.

EDIT: I just phoned them, because I am very tempted at that price, but Tax is apparently £130 per year

i kind of don;t mind that too much (althought the freer the better!).
it's quite a cool station car and cos of this half price parking business...

plus i'd still 'take it on a long run' too.

the aygo is very much on the agenda. i like tham quite a lot. this'd be way cooler though! plus it's far enough under the emissions level that when they inevitably lower the limit i'd still be under it. so future proofed. plus i just like them.

As far as the government is concerned, this car doesn't have emissions levels and is judged on the engine size for tax and parking etc. That means that if it were a year newer, it would be free tax and free street parking, but this is only slightly cheaper than my Corsa 1.2.

I am seriously looking at getting a manual old-skool Insight soon if one comes up at the right price. I just love the nerdiness of them, and they seem to be creeping up in value at the moment too. But only a tax-free one interests me, because I would love to go and collect my parking permit for free and flick two fingers at my bd local authority.

B) this is largely where i am coming from too. they're a genuinely ace car in almost every way - a lot of people even seem to rate the handling.
miles ahead of their time.
the only thing that comes even remotely close in terms of 'wot it is' is the audi a2 and they're basically cr4p in comparison to an insight.

i like you genuinely believe they can very quickly become a 'modern classic'. the cr-z can only help..

I have an insight. Hopefully they will be included as congestion free aswell when the sub 100g criteria changes from currently all hybrids but it appears lack of euro 4 or 5 certification may prevent it! I remember keighley from when I had my integra dodgy resprayed car were always popping up and there were several horrors stories from people who had bought nails. That one is too cheap to not have issues IMO.

I drive mine at a decent rate and since I've had it I've done 30k at just over 70 mpg average. Petrol costs are just not an issue, I'm a contractor so can claim personal mileage for my travel to work, on 40p per mile it's essentially free petrol with the insight , although I might jump to an A2 as I do nearly as many miles at the weekend with the kids and not being able to use the insight makes for painful Ford Focus filling costs.

Nice to see some of the comments in here though, seems to a have degree of ph respect. Most people who go in it always comment on it's faster than they expect, including low end grunt.
