I think I want a wedge . . . . . Aylesbury
Discussion
Hi All,
I'm looking for a second fun car, drive on nice days, wake the neighbour up early in the morning that sort of thing . . . . . I've looked at a few S series car previously but I'm now tending towards an wedge.
I understand I'll have to do a certain amount of regular maintenance / repairs just to keep it going then some more time consuming restoration type work to improve the car, but that's what the winters for.
My first step to confirm my desire so I'm really looking for a Wedge owner in the area I could meet up with for a chat and have a look over the car etc.
Then I may need to try and find . . . .
Cheer Steve

I've just noticed in the profile that's my old car, I've not been on the site for a while. . . .
I now have an A4 Avant S-line SE 2007 170bhp, I'll dig out a picture.
The A4 is great : steady, reliable, economic (ish), comfortable, quiet, as you can see I'm looking for something a little different.

That's just what I need a bit of abuse, that will help me decide :->
I have the money waiting, I'm trying to stop myself buying the first one I see.
It's all all about getting the right tool for the Job,
A4 : family, kids, holidays etc,
Wedge : setting off car alarms, annoying the neighbour etc.
When / If I find one I'll more than likely use it more than the A4 :->

A4 is an awesome car. I used to have a B5 TDI110 avant and its SUCH a shame Audi ruined the later cars with altogether less MPG on the diesels, and utterly AWFUL CVT auto gearbox on the B6 models to replace the not-clever-but-sturdy-enough ZF auto box on the B5, and by the time the B7 came out, Audi were charging mega money for them and they were blinged to the nines. Tough to get into an A4 for less than thirty grand new now. B5 A4s when new could be had for under twenty...
I gather the S-tronic DSG on the B7 is a great box, but not great on powerful Qs because when faced with 400lb/ft on one end and Quattro grip on the other, they tend to pop...
Of course, a wedge is, um, different!
Less boot space for a start.

Looks like it's going to be dry tomorrow, well that's what the weather forecast is anyway.
