Best place to sell a £1500 car?

Hi guys,

Firstly this is not a for sale advert!

I have my E36 143k mile Coupe for sale now I have picked up my new car. My question is would you advertise on Ebay (with w/out reserve?) or Auto Trader?

It is a lovely clean example and I want to know which route would be best. Obviously the advert is up on here as well but with older photos. I get my DSLR back on Friday so can take some nice shots this weekend.

I sold my car recetly on a club forum... got loads of interest, and I got £1,500 for it.

I had it on here too, which also got good interest.

Didn't like the sound of ebay - I couldn't find any clear policy about charges from either ebay or paypal, and there were loads of threads about it being anti-seller re: disputes.

Autotrader - you'll get scams, but as it costs, I'd try that after exhausting the above.

have you also tried Friday Ads, or local paper?

If you're not desparate to get top dollar and want a bit of entertainment then auction it.

Not the cheapest way of selling, but zero hassle and a lot of fun.

Had my first auction experience the other month when I sold the gf's 150K mile Isuzu Trooper. Was a good night out people watching, bargain hunting (had to keep my hand in my pocket a few times) and the chips and cheese were bloody gorgeous.

Gumtree is good for the cheaper stuff, but PH and Autotrader will give you the widest audience. Not used eBay before for selling a car the high listing fees put me off.
