Police, Camera, Action - are they taking the pish?

I've just been watching the newest episode of Police, Camera, Action with Gethin Jones. They have been showing footage of "self confessed distracted drivers" from both in car cameras and from driving under controlled conditions in a non public road environment. I am practically incandescent with latent heart bursting fking rage! WTF are these people thinking? They have people stroking their dogs, texting, reading & eating. When these people are asked whether or not they consider their driving to be "without due care and attention", they all say no! What shocked me the most was when the 18 year old girl runs over & crushes a child's bicycle in the controlled conditions, she just laughs & says it isn't fair. They all try & justify their actions - including the girl who says that applying her make up is "ok, as long as I'm on the M25" THE fkING M25!!! What are peoples ttting problems? How is this funny? I know this is another "everyone is a moron" post, but it really does amaze me how people can take this so lightly!

I too can throw bikes under cars before they can stop, and none will be munching a burger!

What really pisses me off is notwithstanding the bloody drivers who are caught using a hand held phone, or texting, or putting on make up, is the one woman who was zapped on a crossing by a driver distracted by (cant realy remember, text or phone), and suffered horrific injuries.

OK the driver was at fault, but anyone who walks over a crossing without looking is also at fault. My OH says "If the green man is flashing, its OK to cross"

BLOODY WRONG, look left and right for cars/cycles who may not have seen the red lights, and are not about to stop.

Please EDUCATE the pedestrians as well as drivers.

We drivers know that if your on the white line at the lights, and they go GREEN, you look around incase some zombie is running the red one the other way, don't we?

While the show is incredibly condescending, the people they had on tonight were complete and utter spastics. When the burger-munching council estate lass hit the bike and said "That wouldn't happen on a real road because people look before they cross the road", it didn't take a condescending Welsh tv personality to let you know how fking thick that lass must be. She looked incredibly embarresed, but I suppose thats better than crunching some kid under her wheels while she rams another burger in her gob.

Er, not sure they're at fault - they might do more to protect themselves maybe, but they have right of way so are not at fault if hit. It is entirely the drivers fault.

Well we must agree to disagree. HC does say:-

[b]C. Look all around for traffic and listen. Traffic could come from any direction. Listen as well, because you can sometimes hear traffic before you see it.

D. If traffic is coming, let it pass. Look all around again and listen. Do not cross until there is a safe gap in the traffic and you are certain that there is plenty of time. Remember, even if traffic is a long way off, it may be approaching very quickly.

Keep looking and listening for traffic while you cross, in case there is any traffic you did not see, or in case other traffic appears suddenly. Would you cross the road without looking, even with the little man flashing, unless you have a death wish.

Maybe technically, they have a right of way, but not looking is plain stupid.

pretty well summed up, I've been watching this series since the start

why weren't these idiots (and the ones in previous episodes) prosecuted using the in-car camera footage of them "driving while texting/driving with dog climbing all over lap/driving while on the phone etc. etc." ?
