I need to try and restore some headlights which have gone hazy due to them being plastic, has any one used this from machine mart

T-cut or autosol work well, then a fine polish and some wax to protect them.

I tried several polishes and creams on a pair of hazy headlights but none had any effect. In the end I had to take first 1000 and then 3000 grit wet-n-dry paper to them before polishing them with a machine. They came up almost new in the end but it took an hour per side.

Take the lense off and pop it in the oven 200 deg i believe for a short time period and they 'should' become clear again - a friend of mine does this with Toyota Supra ones and it works a treat.
He then finishes them off with 3m Finesse it polish.

Mine was just so bad that i had to start with 240 and finish it with 1600. Not perfect yet, but ways better as i can see the road now. Needs a final polishing tho.

Really? Plastic lenses? In the oven at 200 degrees C?

I'm only guessing, but after slightly scorching the plastic on one of my lenses simply through the heat generated by the friction of a rotary polisher I'd imagine that putting them in the sort of temperature your mate does would have left me with a puddle of plastic and a grumpy wife.

Seems like it a really wide spread problem from my search, so far wet and dry paper going from 1000 to 3000 seems to have best results and finishing with plastic polish to clear up the haze from the sanding.
