- he wanted good places. OP, there are hundreds of great restaurants around Newcastle - do a search as we've covered this before on here - my suggestion would be Rockafella which is run by the chap who won Hells Kitchen

Newcastle is in short supply of very good restaurants.
Cafe 21 is still turning out good food, but sometimes it can miss the mark.
Silk Room is OK too, and I would recommend the Wagyu Beef burger.
Sunderland I have not got a clue about as I never set foot in the place, I do eat in the Black Horse at Boldon a lot when home and only once have had a bad meal there. Also Seaham Hall was good, has gone downhill a bit since Kenny left though.

Is Vujon on Forth Bank still going - that was always great if a little pricey Indian food.
Where's Kenny cooking now?

+1 For Cafe 21. Average to good, but still better than anything else in the Newcastle area.Cafe 21 is still turning out good food, but sometimes it can miss the mark.
