Not sure if anyone can help. I have juts bought an M5, i live in London, and the insurance is pretty astronomical. I wasn't sure if there were any companies that specialised in insurance for such a car, or if there were any enthusiast clubs which would help bring the premium down??

Anyway if anyone has any information that could help it would be appreciated.

Thanks all.

pinkboy, that quote does seem very high although I don't know the premiums for living in central London. I'm also with Elephant on my M6 and pay around £1000. I'm 27 with full no claims etc. I live 20 miles south of London though.

I pay £772 based on a Reading postcode. Business use, 34yrs old. The OH has a SP30 and we have 2 claims each listed (dont ask).

Thats with 1st Central. I found confused.com the best.

Try Classicline insurance in Hinckley they are superb, They insured my Tuscan and my m5 for less than I could get just the M5 for anywhere else, £780 for the M5 and my postcode is the 3rd worst in the uk.
Good luck.

I got mine through A-Plan for £580.

42 years old, full no claims, no accidents or convictions and living in a reasonable area.

Car is a 2001 M5 doing 12,000 miles per year, and covered for social, commuting and business.

Try Keith michaels insurance, Gary Moulson person to speak to.

I used them for my modifed impreza in the past and stayed with them for last few years with subsequent cars.

My E60 M5 with protected NCB etc is about £650-700, car about £35k, 34yo full NCB

I also have a clio 172 which I have a linked policy so can use the no-claims on both cars via Gary which is really good.

I went this year with ESI, part of the A&A Group.

They saved me a lot of money on the E60 M5 and I'd recommend them.

Deal directly with John Tansley, their general manager, for the best deal.....0208 939 3921, e-mail

Central London postcodes and M cars don't mix I'm afraid. It's cheaper for me to insure a £70k Aston Martin Vanquish than a £5k E36 M3......Good Luck with your search and keep us posted.
