£190 instead of £500 to hire an Aston Martin DB9 for the day

I have no connection with the company and this seems a fairly good deal, albeit with the 75 miles restriction and £3k excess. They supposedly delivery to you as well, but read the small print closely!!! You are protected by the 7 day internet purchase legislation though.

The £3k excess bit scares me though. I hate the excessive nature in which you are beaten financially senseless over hire cars for minor marks, on a DB9 it should be ten times worse

crikey, thats still a lot for, erm, not a lot! £190 + whatever petrol you spend could easily get you a trackday, which is probably more fun than driving round in a car which you are paranoid about damaging!

75 miles is probably less than 20 laps on an average track, not including getting there and back! not to mention i bet this insurance doesn't cover track incidents as well.. you could end up owing them a £65k DB9!

Not in someone else's car, nor in your own if you consider tyres, brakes etc., even without additional wear&tear.

£3k excess sounds like (a) a typical 'dissuade the nutters' value and (b) probably something imposed by the insurer.

But the 75-mile limit seems rather unnecessary...

I suppose its just enough to get you to Brighton from London, park up and pose. I am surprised no PH'er has recommended saving your cash to spend on hookers and coke yet.

I hired a race prepped 325i at the 'ring and my excess was euro8k so this looks quite reasonable to me!

I didn't realise they were that cheap...May have to make a few enquiries.
