Mojave National Preserve - Accomodation

Y'all

Mrs Arese and I will be travelling from Palm Springs to Vegas, which is about 260 miles. We'd be going via the Joshua Tree National Park and the Mojave National Preserve, and rather than do the whole trip in one we'd like to stay over somewhere in the middle of the Mojave National Preserve if possible.

I've tried Google, Trip Advisor, and I can't find anything. Has anyone ever done this or do most people just drive through and get to Vegas?
