Those expanding floating keyrings

Are they 100% reliable? Do they have a 'use by' date?

Or would you recommend the tech-free giant floating lump kind? (which are ugly and don't fit in pockets)

Yep, found that one on eBay; there are several designs - just not convinced of their infallibility. Then again if it's just a normal leather keyfob, like a car, it can go in a pocket and so no danger of ending up in Davy Jones's locker!
