What can the PH "massive" tell me about Citreon C15 van? Mid 90's vintage.

I've got the offer of one for silly money, even if i sold it again monday i'm sure i'd get my money back. However as i'm currently self employed it would be an ideal little work hack and replacement for the Eunos.

I'm going to have a look tomorrow but from what i've heard it isn't rotten at all and is really tidy, i think it's done 130k ish.

If it is the NA diesel one, then the one I drove holds the accolade for the slowest vehicle I have ever driven. Hill start involved flooring the throttle then when the revs eventually started to raise, slowly easing out the clutch. I've known dead people move with more urgency.


Don't let that put you off though.

Don't let that put you off though.

I once had (briefly) a Range Rover Classic with a knackered VM diesel engine...that was the slowest thing i've driven to date!

100% agree. i have just done 3500 across europe (inc pyrenees twice) in a white 1.6 vitara and box trailer and it was such good fun to try to keep the speed up.

Recall them being a PITA to reverse when empty as you can't see out the rear windows (other than sky) or see past the bodywork that sticks out if you look out of the window backwards... on the plus side, reversing using the mirrors is quickly learned.

You can fit a pallet in the back straight off a forklift though...

I know my Dad always called his the "Tin snail" and they are slow with not very good brakes and did like to go rusty but other than that they were very good very cheap reliable vans.

lol, paid the princely sum of £375 quid! and i was gobsmacked by how tidy she is too, from all accounts the old girls had an easy life

Unfortunately there was no garlic, beret or nonchalant Gallic shrug included in the sale....though i think i'm duty bound to work on the latter! very temped to leave a beret on the dashboard too with a copy of La Monde

Pretty sure they would be fine. Old french diesel was based on thick beef gravy anyway. Don't forget to let the HMRC know...
