Racing with 418 BHP? Blimey Nige, another 13 HP and you can enter your car!!! Have to leave those twin turbos off though!

Need to talk to these guys, we are getting 475 bhp out of heads, cam and headers on a stock exhaust system. With a race set up they ought to be getting the other side of 500 bhp.

As the British GT Cup class runs a power to weight ratio limit, they are most likely, deliberately only running at the 418bhp level.

That makes three Corvettes in the GT series. As well as the Jensen Car, Xero Competion will have the car they raced last year and Embassy Racing (www.embassyracing.com) have just built and tested a C5. How do I know this - I was lucky enough to be invited to Pembry on Monday when Xero and Embassy hired the entire circuit. I didn't see the Xero car run, but the Embassy car put in a few laps. The Embassy team are very keen to forge links with CCCUK so watch this space.

Interesting that they quote the power output of the Embassy car at 460 bhp, much nearer the mark I would say.

Well would you believe it - got an invite to the launch of the Jensen Motorsport C5 today. It is running a stock LS1 and gearbox hence the quoted BHP, as there is a power to weight ratio in their class. Whilst an LS6 motor may seem the obvious choice, I would guess it could tip them over the limit. The engine management has been changed - it looks impressive and they are looking forward to the first round at Donnington next weekend. Might go along as all three C5 race cars should be there.
By the way, blackzr, I do not want to open old wounds but two of these cars may be well known to you, I guess.

Geoff - can't decide whether to go or not at the moment. I was going up Friday as free practice is very early on Saturday with two 15 min qualifiers just after lunch. The race is about 1pm on Sunday I think. I have no Vette to take anyway (sob, sob) unless you can lend me one of yours (yippee.....)

You bet I'll be there if only to tuck into the lavish spread you have promised us all - will you be using outside caterers or will you and Danny be buttering bread between jobs?

OK confused. I thought the British GT was at Brands this weekend. Don't forget Richard I need to pick up the brake pads this weekend - do I have to chase you all the way to Donnington?

Geoff - I was going to ask you the same question as I didn't go either for two reasons. Firstly I didn't relish the 450 mile round trip in my old Mitsibushi and secondly, two of the cars had not had much testing, and I feared that they could have had problems at the track. A long way to go to watch a car stationery in the pits.

Thanks Nige - race two was a good result considering that the Cook car is the brand new Embassy Racing C5. The Cole car is the ex-AK C5 from last year running under Xero Competition (in Yellow of course). The Lesniewski car is the ex-AK car with the standard LS1 in it.
