INSULATION TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE BONNET

hi all

looked at the underside of my bonnet today 1 week of onwership and nothing there ?
what my options , new sound insulation ? heat/ foil insulation ? or leave it off ?

what best for the car , where do you buy it from , and how do you fix it in position without it dropping off

+1, I don't have any on mine and never felt the desire to put anything on either. The choice is yours....

Later models never had it fitted from new, I'm guessing either it added underbonnet heat or owners reported it kept falling off on to the engine!

I had a quilt fitted up to a month ago, it came down a year ago and I stuck it back, then it started to dropped down catching on the throttle, wuich was a pain. I asked the same question on this forum, with the advice took it off.

No difference if anything cooling maybe better.

Up to S2 quilt fitted under bonnet - removed mine as it was very tatty - replaced with noise killer heat resistant lining - has fallen off many times and I have given up. No problem especially as it didnt reduce under bonnet noise in any way.

So dont bother in my oppinion.

Same as Norman,
cleaned underside of bonnet meticulously and here it is looking very smart and felt like it had stuck really well (its self adhesive). But it started to peel off not long after bonnet went back on, tried re-sticking with Evo-Stik, still came off.

Went in the bin !
