6.5 meter tall 1 cyl 2 stroke diesel engine - 81 litre
Discussion
In this brilliant little museum . . . http://www.motoren-museum.nl/
81 litre 2 sttroke diesel engine. Ticks over at 45 rpm, the exhaust pipe is as wide as a dustbin, needs to be started using compressed air. The owner starts it once a month . . . surprisingly smooth
Specification

Starting involves setting piston at just over tdc using a lever on the flywheel
The con rod can be seen through the perspex window on left

Cylinder Head

Exhaust

Rev counter

Nitro RC engines work very much like small diesel 2 strokes. These are only up to a couple of cc though. I'm sure a reasonable 2 stroke diesel could be done, but why?
There has to be performance advantages from spending more time making power, than sucking and exhausting like a 4 stroke. If not, why does it work on massive engines and not small ones ?

In smaller 2 strokes everything happens soo fast that you cant get complete burn inside the cylinders.
