Robin HR200 for training?

Doing some initial investigation into doing my NPPL/PPL.

My local flying club, Bournemouth, train on the Robin HR200 so wondered what people thought of it to learn on. Also interested if anyone is familiar with the flight school?

No idea about the flight school, but the HR200 is a very nice trainer. Compared to the usual yank junk that people get to train in it is a different league. If you get the chance get some time in a 2160 as you can do aeros in those.

Yep they have a 2160 for aerobatic too! Think I'll book a taster session and see where it takes me. Would anyone recommend 30 or 60 minutes for a trial lesson? I'm sure I'll instantly know if it's for me but then again maybe it does not work like that.

Check to see if the 30/60 minutes is chock to chock or wheels off to wheels on. At some airfields taxi and engine checks can take a fair chunk out of your time.

Thirty minutes will fly by (geddit?) but will be plenty if you are prone to chundering. Sixty will of course be better if you enjoy it.

I've been in small planes and boats and never had an issue so maybe I should just bite the bullet and go for 60. Decisions!

Seems we share a lot of interests you and I (referring to the 4x4 thread and the types of cars currently driven).
I did my PPL at BIA in a cessna 150.
The most likely scenario is you will be taking off from Bmth and actually flying to Old Sarum for training.
If you haven't found an instructor yet I can put you in touch with mine. Think he has a Cessan 172 and a Piper of some sort.
