petrol tank cradle

Hi folks

Your wealth of knowledge needed once more.

My S3 is a VERY long term project with a 4 year gap in between!

So I ve just about to fix the tank back on (body is off) and thought 'should there be some rubber between the tank and where it sits on cradle?' . If so ... I ve lost them sometime ago!!

Can anyone tell me if Ive imagined these items or not please!?

Hi straps that go around / over the tank have some rubber in between so yes you are correct. HTH

Yes I have the rubber strips that sit between straps and tank but does the tank itself sit on any rubber or is it direct to the cradle?

There is definatley a rubber strip between the bottom of the tank and the cradle, I used a piece of a cheap rubber mat cut into strips.

Well dicovered some suspect rubber sections hidden under some clutter .... I m of course blaming someone else for putting them there

A cheap and handy source could be a scrap inner tube from local tyre fitters ?
