Range Rover PPI

Living up here in central Scotland there is a bit of a dearth of interesting cars around so, as usual, I'll most likely have to travel south to purchase.

I was wondering what the recommendations would be for getting a PPI done for private sales or non franchised vehicles? Is there a roving specialist who does inspections (have seen this with Porsches) or would I have to track down a local specialist to have a look? Would asking a main dealer be a complete waste of time?

I'm looking at 4.4l Vogues. Any advice appreciated!
