I need a big boot!

I can't seem to find a site that compares boot sizes, but I need an all rounder that has a large boot. Any suggestions?

I have an A6 avant, but dont want audi again.
I have looked at VW tiguan, VW touran (sad but fits the job), volvo d70 and a passat. Any suggestions?

Would like : memory seats, 4wd (for skiiing trips) and a boot that cn fit a pram, luggage and skis(on a roof rack if need be)

I think Parkers will give you the boot sizes for all the cars they have reviews on. You still need to know what you're looking for, though.

If you looking for something fairly cheap (£10k or below), the VW Jetta has 527 litres of boot space. This is more then the current shape Passat which has 485 litres.

I really dont like MPV's but if needs must.. which is why I said Touran, and loose out on 4wd. Tigaun is a bit sexier at least! Jetta - is that an estate then, thought it was saloon? Didnt have any at the garage at the weekend, so I need to pop off to vw.com...

I will look at the subaru too, interesting idea. NB Tourans come it at £14500 new, so seems like a sensible price point to start with

Just checked the numbers..

according to autotrader info, A6 avant has 565 litres. Octavia estate 580 litres.

Jetta is a saloon although you can get an estate version which is badged as a Golf here in the UK. In the US I believe it's called a Jetta Sportwagen.

Some great options, thanks. Just had a look in my local volvo dealer at the XC70, not seen one of those before! No idea what service costs/mpg/road tax is like on those sort of things, but it ticks all my requirements at least. fingers crossed it is cheap to run/maintain but I doubt it.

I think the skoda is a good option, but the wife hears "skoda.." and switches off..
