Speedo failure
Discussion
Had a great day at Bruntingthorpe yesterday and hit some great speeds
Sadly in the late afternoon, my speedo started flickering, then jumping about randomly and eventually died completely
This looks terminal, so I guess I have to fit a new one. The question is, how do I go about getting the new one to read the same mileage as the old one coming out? I guess I must do this or something similar for MOT/log book purposes, but I also want to keep it a correct record.
Thanks, Andy

Hi Andy
Ive got a spare speedo and a spare sender, if you want i will post them to you so you can check which part is actually faulty, i suspect a wiring problem. Put a multi meter on the signal wire at the speedo end to see if a signal is being transmitted, i will check the colour of the wire for you tomorrow

Sorry, forgot to put on last post -
I need to get my MOT done in the next few weeks, will I need the speedo to be working when it's done or will they not check this?
Thanks again.
Had mine MOT'd a couple of months back with no working speedo, not checked for MOT.I need to get my MOT done in the next few weeks, will I need the speedo to be working when it's done or will they not check this?
