Indicator stalk for Escort help
Discussion
Hi Guys
Just popped over from the TVR S site for a bit of help please...
I am after a replacement steering column stalk that controls the headamp main beam/dip beam, horn and indicators for my S2.
The original came from a 1989 Ford Escort or Fiesta of the period. I think that is an Escort Mk 3, the one before Ford changed over to the short stumpy round column switches. Can you please confirm the model is correct.
Can anyone tell me where I can find a supplier or breaker of fords with a good stock of old model parts? I have tried the usual breaker search sites to no avail.
Thanks guys...much appreciated.
Tim

1989 would be a mk4 Escort. From your description i would say you have mk3 stalks though. Do you have a double stalk on the other side for wipers and switching your lights onto dipped beam? If so they are mk3. The mk4 light switch is on the inside of the indicator stalk,IYKWIM.Which just leaves a single stalk on the other side for wipers.Just popped over from the TVR S site for a bit of help please...

Do you have a pic of said stalk? I'll be able to tell you for sure then what you need to look for.
Thanks Steve. Definately Mk 111 then as two controls on other side of column as you describe.
I believe they also featured in the Fiesta Mk 11 and the early Sierra.
Part Number is 83BG13B302BA.
Having trouble locating one but several breakers are searching their parts bins.
Can anyone give me a good lead?
Thanks,
Tim

I'm pretty sure the Sierra and Fiesta items differ slightly to the Escort ones so you need to make sure you get the correct model.
I bought the double stalk for the other side of ebay, usually plenty of them on there.
If not try the breaking section on www.seriesoneturbo.co.uk
